Part 1

Part 1 of The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars starts when Korra and Asami’s tour to the spirit world is cut short. This is because of an altercation between the spirits and The Avatar. Spirits opposed the third portal that Korra had created during her battle with Kuvira. After they depart from the spirit world, the couple heads to the Southern Water Tribe to reveal their relationship to Korra’s parents. Although Korra’s parents accept her decision, her father prohibits her from disclosing their relationship in public because of the traditions of the Water Tribe.

When they return to Republic City, they discover that Wonyong Keum plans on developing a tourist spot in the land around the spirit world. This invokes a strong response from the spirits who urge Korra to close the portal. But Korra declines much to the wrath of the spirits. The next day Korra and Asami join Tenzin and Zhu Li in their efforts to rehabilitate the refugees from Kuvira’s war. At the same time, President Raiko is more concerned about the elections.

The Triple Threat Triad attacks the Air Nomads around the portals on orders of Keum, and spirits attack the Triad members. And change the triad leader Tokuga into a mutated spirit-human hybrid. In comparison, Asami is nearly killed in this encounter. And Korra kisses her in relief after she is safe, revealing their relationship to the public.
